Natopiwo Projects

Preschool
Natopiwo Preschool is our flagship initiative, currently supporting nearly 100 enthusiastic Maasai children aged 3-7. We offer pre-primary education five days a week, along with access to clean water and one nutritious meal—often the only meal these children receive each day.
Since the founding of Natopiwo, 273 children have received a preschool education, and an incredible 100% of these children have gone on to primary school.
Education for
Young Adults
In 2021, we broadened Natopiwo’s educational programs to support promising Maasai young adults pursuing secondary and post-secondary educational opportunities. Since then, we've assisted 20 young adult learners in achieving their goals.

Women and Girls
Natopiwo works in close collaboration with the women and men of Monduli Juu to empower Massai women and girls through literacy programs, women's health initiatives, and women's skills training. Women are learning reading and writing skills in Swahili, their national language, so that they can assist their families in managing the needs of day-to-day living.
Community-Based
Environmental Projects
Natopiwo works with NGO partners and the local community to address climate change through reforestation, water conservation projects, and extensive erosion mitigation and vegetation renewal. This work includes planting more trees and grass to hold the soil, and educating people about environmental values that align with (and complement) their customary pastoralist logics.
